So, I mentioned that I gave the Black Out website a bit a facelift. I figured I’d also do that for my personal website (aka my main domain). Some people have told me in the past to having a personal website is a great way to brand yourself. Perhaps many don’t want to deal with all the web maintenance, extra fees and whatnot to keep up, but I think it’s worth it.
It’s something nice to put down on your resume, especially when employers aren’t expecting it. And to keep things simple, I’ve made my “website” more of a landing page to get basic info about me. Most importantly, my resume of experience. Not a lot of maintenance needed at all and it’s very straightforward.
So, if you happen to be switching a career, or you’d like to brand yourself, consider looking into getting a domain for your name and make a website for yourself. If you’re an artist, graphic designer, web designer, photographer or even a baker, it’s a great way to display your talents online (and potentially gain customers!). You don’t need to be that experienced in CSS/HTML (although it helps), but there are plenty of places to get a free website, like Wix, Weebly, Moonfruit and even WordPress.
